Leonardo Spa focuses on Pomezia and offers work to its young people – Il Caffe

In the Pomezia headquarters of the aerospace industry giant Leonardo Spa today there was the institutional visit of Senator Marco Silvestroni and the mayor of Pomezia Veronica Felici.

With company representatives we talked about the present, but above all the future of the large industrial site which today it employs 550 people. A dialogue between institutions and Leonardo Spa started months ago, with many topics of discussion on the table: taxation, investments, employment.

“The Pomezia industrial plant remains strategic for Leonardo – declared Senator Marco Silvestroni -. We have been alongside the workers to support company stabilization and employment stability.

We are proud of how the Government and Institutions have worked in full synergy with the Region, to guarantee the continuity of an establishment that contributes to Italian excellence in the aerospace and defense sector.

The mayor of Pomezia Felici: job opportunities for young people in the area

The mayor of Pomezia Veronica Felici highlighted an important fact relating to employment:

“I was particularly pleased to learn how the representatives of Leonardo Spa made themselves available to involve the territory and our young people with the aim of implement the plant’s staff, drawing directly from the Technical Institutes of our city.

The fact that Leonardo in Pomezia intends to invest in growth of human resources I consider it a great success of which I am satisfied and proud.

Right from the start, as Mayor of Pomezia, I made myself available for a dialogue with the company, committing myself to pursuing any action that could represent the good of the many Leonardo workers who come from our city and the area; hundreds of workers behind whom there are just as many families”.

The giant called “Leonardo”

Leonardo Spa is a true giant in the aerospace and defense industry. First in Europe in its sector. By turnover in Italy it is the 11th largest company (2022 data).

The company is structured into five divisions: helicopters, aircraft, aerostructures, electronics and cyber security. The reference businesses of the Pomezia industrial site are in particular electronics and space.

The production ecosystem led by Leonardo Spa, in Lazio, is made up of approximately 830 companies, with a total of 24,200 direct, indirect and induced employees. Its supply chain contributes approximately 1.9 billion euros to the regional GDP.

The representatives of the institutions declare that they want to strengthen the Pomezia hub:

“Leonardo is a strategic company for Italy – declared Senator Silvestroni – and a vital reality for Pomezia. We must now optimize and consolidate the growth of the industrial center in the Electronics Division, making it become a logistics hub serving the existing production activities in the Lazio Region”

The design of military communications equipment, avionics, new generation cockpits for civil and military aircraft takes place at the Pomezia industrial site and there is the Avionics Maintenance Center for Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. Furthermore, laser transmitters for space applications, such as those of the ESA missions EarthCARE and Aeolus.
