TERAMO. The students, teachers and technical and administrative staff called to choose the new rector of the University of Teramo. Polls open from 9am to 7pm on Tuesday 11 June in the single polling station which will be set up in the thesis room of the Spaventa center on the Coste Sant’Agostino campus.

There are two challengers who have decided to run to take the place of the outgoing rector, Dino Mastrocola, for the next six years (from the 2024/2025 academic year to the 2029/2030 academic year). They are Salvatore Cimini, who until March 3rd held the position of general director of the University, and Christian Corsi, director of the Department of Communication Sciences.

“I undertake the commitment to offer an opportunity to relaunch our University. Together we can do it” writes Cimini
in the introduction of his electoral programme, while for Corsi the candidacy “arises from the desire to share a new conception of the University of Teramo”.

There are 534 people entitled to vote, as confirmed by the lists of active voters published by the University.
The largest group is that of teachers: 262. Then the members of the technical, administrative and administrative staff
library (185 people) and student representatives (87).

“The counting operations will be carried out by the same members of the polling station, they will be public and will begin
immediately after the closing of the voting operations” explains the decree with which the polling station was established, which will see the teachers Michele Pisante and Angela Di Cesare assume the roles of titular and alternate president respectively. The decree continues: “The president of the polling station may suspend the counting operations if they fail
extend beyond 11pm on June 11th; in this case operations will have to resume at 9 am on 12 June. During
counting operations, at least three members of the polling station must always be present, including the president, the
vice president and the secretary”.
