The independent workers of Collettivo 20092 are returning to the square in Cinisello Balsamo. They will do so next Saturday, 8 June, organizing an afternoon of mobilization and play for the little ones in Piazzetta del Sole, via Brunelleschi in Sant’Eusebio. In the afternoon there will be open and free workshops for children and a public assembly on the “right to the city”, then aperitif and music, starting from 3pm.
“In recent years an entire city has emptied and a territory has become impoverished: we are talking about Cinisello and Northern Milan, that hinterland belt which, despite the abundance of spaces, has progressively seen the closure of recreational and cultural activities, places available to ‘associationism and spontaneous paths of mutual aid from below, as well as the eviction of the self-management experiences carried out by the 2009 Collective,’ the activists say in a note.
“In parallel, it is the public services that are cut and affected, in an always privatistic perspective of the city – not only in the sense of privatization, but also of the management by the Ghilardi council, as if the city were a private affair of the right ”.
“As Collettivo 20092 we feel the need to propose a common moment to talk about it and to affirm that that of space and the public city is an urgent problem that concerns us all, regardless of the differences in approach, activism and organization that characterizes us: let’s resume the floor, as we have done in the last three years, on the topic of the right to the city and the right to live. And we want to do it precisely in Sant’Eusebio, a popular neighborhood among the most affected by the idea of malterritory that those who govern us have in mind”, concludes the note.
