PESARO – Palazzo Perticari and Franco Signoretti’s collections open to the public. The presentation is scheduled for this afternoon, Monday 3 June at 4pm in the Auditorium of Palazzo Montani Antaldi. The actual inauguration will follow with the dedication ceremony of the exhibition rooms to Costanza Monti, wife of Giulio Perticari, protagonist of Pesaro in the early 19th century, today a symbol of female emancipation but at the time devalued and misunderstood, the target of envy and slander that will force her to a painful epilogue of her existence, far from Pesaro.

Thanks to cultural project of Palazzo Perticari Signoretti, Costanza Monti returns today to Pesaro to the home where she lived perhaps the happiest part of her life. She will be remembered in the presentation of the event by Anna Maria Ambrosini Massari, full professor at the University of Urbino and author of a publication on Costanza Monti. We also want to celebrate Costanza’s presence in the volume “The streets of women 2 new stories of great Italians” written by Salvatore Giannella, journalist former director of Genius, L’Europeo, Airone and Bbc History Italia and Gaetano Gramaglia, recognized in 2023 as “enlightened man” from the States General of Women. Both will attend the presentation and talk about the editorial initiative.

Maria Maddalena Paolini, curator of the Signoretti Art Library, will talk about Palazzo Perticari Signoretti today, with its art collections, its book heritage, its purposes and future projects. The meeting is coordinated by Professor Riccardo Paolo Uguccioni, historian and profound expert on nineteenth-century Pesaro. This will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition rooms of the palace where, in the setting of pictorial decorations from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the artistic collections of Italian painting between 400 and 700 of the entrepreneur Franco Signoretti unfold, accompanied by ceramics of the most important Italian manufacturers of the second half of the 19th century. A guided tour of the specialist library is also planned. Scheduled visits are organised until September 28, 2024 with free entry.
