Sport and nature, Fellegara: «Building a Sanremo that enhances natural heritage and a healthy lifestyle»

Sanremo. Sanremo, with its unique geographical and climatic position, offers an ideal environment for a wide range of outdoor sports, from marine to mountain activities. Fulvio Fellegaracandidate for mayor of Sanremo, intends to enhance these potentials to promote eco-sustainable and seasonally adjusted tourism, capable of attracting visitors throughout the year.

«Sanremo, like many Ligurian coastal municipalities, enjoys unique characteristics that allow the practice of numerous outdoor activities all year round, including road cycling, running, swimming, sailing and rowing. These activities not only promote eco-sustainable tourism, but integrate perfectly with the tourist-sports events of regional and national importance that we intend to include in the event calendar”, states Fellegara.

One of Fellegara’s key proposals is the creation of theme parks for lovers of running and walking, with marked routes suitable for both beginners and experts, immersed in a natural setting of extraordinary beauty. Furthermore, it intends to promote the recovery of historic paths, as suggested by Bartolomeo Asquasciati’s guide, and create transversal connections to the cycle path, integrating mountain bike routes.

The maintenance of the cycle path, together with the care of greenery and services, is another central point of the Fellegara program. «A development plan is needed to create the linear garden envisaged by the initial project, with equipped green areas, toilets, stopping places, hostels for cyclists and access to the sea. Furthermore, where possible, pedestrian paths connected to the cycle path will be studied and planned, including new naturalistic pedestrian paths such as the one from the Bussana Mare beach to Bussana Vecchia”, continues the candidate.

Fellegara is also committed to promoting important sporting events in natural environments, such as the Maratona del Mare, which uses the cycle path route, and the national Triathlon competition, strengthening them to obtain greater participation. It also intends to relaunch the historic “4,000 steps” trials competition, in collaboration with the CAI Sanremo, to make it a national and international competition.
