The Lega Pro playoff final will be Carrarese-Vicenza which will decide the last promoted in the next 2024/25 Serie B championship, which will also see Salernitana participate. The two teams, who respectively eliminated the Benevento and Avellino bells, will face each other on June 5th in the first leg match which will be staged at the Romeo Menti stadium in Vicenza and then return to the field at the Stadio dei Marmi in Carrara on June 9th for the return match that will decide the winner. The only derby that the Granata will face during the next season will therefore be the one against Juve Stabia, winners of group C of Lega Pro.
Despite the two possible results out of three available to Benevento, Carrarese – of the old Granata acquaintance Leonardo Capezzi – managed to grab a draw twice in the match against “Ciro Vigorito” thanks to goals from Finotto in the 19th minute and Schiavi in the 66th ‘, who responded to the goals of Lanini and Talia. The total result is 3 to 2 in favor of the yellow-blue team, which could return to Serie B for the third time in its history, after the appearances made in the 1946/47 and 1947/48 seasons.
There is no story, however, in the match between Vicenza and Avellino, with the red and white team which, thanks to the advantage given by a better placing in the standings, closed the qualification discussion thanks to goals from Della Morte and Costa arriving in the 14th minute and in the 64th minute. Cosimo Patierno’s penalty goal in the 75th minute was useless, reducing the gap and bringing the final result to 2-1.
