Just three laps from the end of race 3, a small mistake put an end to Hiyu Yamakoshi’s perfect weekend. Leader up to that point, the Japanese driver succumbed to the pressure that Freddie Slater tried to put on him throughout the race, cutting too much on the Variante Alta and hitting the cone that delimits the edge of the track. The impact caused the front wing to collapse. Yamakoshi attempted to continue, but was quickly sucked into the group and the black flag with orange dot finally put an end to his hopes.

Green light therefore for Slater, who found his redemption after the exclusion from race 1 and the penalty that removed him from the points zone in the second race. The English driver thus regained the championship leadership, returning to 100 points against Yamakoshi’s 82. After two second places in the first two races, Akshay Bohra, fifth in race 3, retained third place in the standings at 73 points, followed closely by Alex Powell, a good fourth after an unlucky weekend.

The two US Racing riders Jack Beeton and Maxim Rehm finished on the podium. The latter first tried to undermine his teammate, then was good at responding forcefully to the overtaking of Kean Nakamura Berta and Powell, who had managed to surprise him. The Alpine rider finished sixth ahead of Luka Sammalisto, Tomass Stolcermanis, Reno Francot and Gustav Jonsson, who closed the top-10. Emanuele Olivieri’s race was still positive, good 12th, while his compatriots fared worse. Alvise Rodella wasn’t even able to start due to an electrical problem, while Davide Larini was knocked out by teammate Kamal Mrad. A contact triggered by Francot led to Rashid Al Dhaheri retiring.
