Two hundred in Trieste for the pro-Palestine demonstration

TRIESTE, 02 JUN – In the afternoon, the procession for Palestine took place in the city, the aim of which is to extend the mobilization of solidarity towards the Palestinian people. The procession left shortly after 4pm from the headquarters of the University of Trieste, in Piazzale Europa, and during the transit various green smoke bombs were lit while many Palestinian flags were waving. Criticism was leveled at the Italian State for its political position towards the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and condemnation was expressed for the “massacres that the Zionist entity is carrying out in Rafah”. Entity that “continues with impunity with its genocidal and criminal actions, violating any international and human law in the Gaza Strip and in the occupied territories of Palestine, including the impositions of the International Court of Justice”, as reported in a student statement. In addition to many students, who in recent days had camped with tents in the square in front of the entrance to the university, activists and pacifists, there were also some women from Gaza, who witnessed what is happening in Palestine in the conflict with Israel , with touching words. The procession, escorted by the police, then descended towards the center, parading along via Fabio Severo, piazza Libertà, to end in Largo Santos.
