A 52 year old cyclist was invested and killed, shortly before 7pm, on state road 172, the state road that connects Taranto to Martina Franca, in the Statte area. According to initial information, the man was hit by a car while proceeding in the direction of Taranto. 118, the carabinieri and the traffic police were on site.
The accident
The alarm was raised by passing motorists and rescuers immediately arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the man. He died instantly
