MUNICIPALITY OF ALA (TN) * “OPEN BUILDINGS“: «THE MUNICIPALITIES OF TRENTINO FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE, ON 9/6 WE WILL START WITH A VISIT TO THE FUCINA CORTIANA»

4.20pm – Saturday 1 June 2024

Not only the palaces, but also churches, places of history and even music, with the visit-concert to the ancient pianos. This is what Ala offers for the “Palazzi Aperti” day, which will be held on June 9th. The “Open Palaces” day, dedicated to visits to the most beautiful places in the cities and towns of Trentino, will be special in Ala. The “City of Velvet” will not only open its beautiful baroque palaces, but will also offer visits to other places rich in beauty in the area.

On June 9th we will begin with a visit to the Fucina Cortiana, an ancient mill converted into a workshop, functioning until the 1980s, perfectly preserved (including the iconic “grindstone” driven by the water of the stream). The visit includes a walk starting at 9.30 from the center of Ala (Piazza San Giovanni), with which, accompanied by the forestry corps, you will reach the Fucina in about 40 minutes. The walk is not suitable for strollers, return at 12.30.
From 10am to 12pm you can visit the small church of San Pietro in Bosco, guided by the actors of the Compagnia della Stella. Visits every half hour. You can also reach the little church (located south of Ala along state road 12) on a walk, departing at 10am again from Piazza San Giovanni.

The afternoon will be dedicated to the baroque center of Ala. From 2.30pm to 4pm (always starting from Piazza San Giovanni) there will be an animated visit to the center together with the velvet makers in eighteenth-century costume. We will visit the baroque palaces of the centre, discovering hidden places and learning the history of Ala, especially the velvet epic, which made the town rich and flourishing.
From 4.30pm to 6pm it ends on a high note, with a concert visit to the Ancient Piano Museum. Here the pianist Temenuschka Vesselinova will show us the collection of precious antique pianos and will make us relive the sounds of the works of the great composers of the past, on the instruments of their era. Reservation is mandatory, until all available places are filled. For this last visit spaces are limited and therefore it is necessary to hurry and book.

The visits are all free, reservations at the link:
