Station, Portici and centre. Security checks

Rapid anti-drug, anti-bivouac and urban security checks in the historic centre, in the Portici and in the station area: the Carabinieri carried them out in recent days. The particular activity, coordinated by the Provincial Command, had the intention of discouraging and driving away individuals who sometimes, as per reports received, enjoy disturbing people in transit and even taxi drivers in carrying out their work. Even if there are no serious crimes, interventions are valuable in various cases.

The prevention and control action saw the use of 4 Army patrols, personnel in civilian clothes and dog units, forces coordinated by the company commander. In the area of the train station a small group of young people were identified who were annoying travellers, while at the ‘Portici’ several young people were checked, two of whom, both 20 years old, did not escape the scent of ‘Dalla, a Belgian Malinois shepherd from 5 years (of the Emilia-Romagna dog lovers association of Faenza), being found in possession of a modest quantity of hashish.

The activity, carried out in the broader ‘security project’ wanted by the Prefecture, allowed us to proceed with the identification and control of over 60 subjects, all checked in the city areas subject to repeated reports; among them several criminals who frequented a club in the historic centre. Furthermore, 4 anti-bivouac fines were imposed on people who usually consume alcohol while sitting on the sidewalks of the centre.
