Sunday 02 June 2024, the Italian National Olympic Committee will celebrate National Sports Day, established by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the directive of 27 November 2003, a great celebration open to all that takes place simultaneously throughout the national territory.
A day dedicated to those who love and practice sport and the promotion of all the sporting disciplines involved, with events and demonstrations in many Italian municipalities.
Under the direction of CONI, in coordination with the sports bodies and affiliated sports associations and together with the local authorities, the territories take action in initiatives, events and manifestations initiatives aimed at enhancing the function of sport as a fundamental factor of growth and enrichment of the individual, of improvement of the quality of life and of empowerment and strengthening of civil society.
Also CONI Basilicata joins GNS24, with the support and membership of ASD and Federations who will meet on Sunday 2 May inside the Baden Powell Park in Potenza, starting from 10:00 am, to spend a festive morning together, try and let those present try many different sports: Hockey – Karate – Cycling – Martial Arts – Aerial Gymnastics – Basketball – Rugby – Table Football – Archery.
The President stated Leopoldo Desiderio:
“We are happy to spend a few hours together in the park, and as has already happened in previous editions, see the smiles of adults and children as they try their hand at various sports.
It is essential to bring sport among the people, to introduce them to, bring them closer and try different disciplines, each according to their inclination.
Sincere thanks go to the regional presidents and delegates, as well as technicians and sports operators, who have decided to accept our invitation, supporting us and bringing their knowledge to the service of citizens”.
