FANO He remained lying on the ground for about half an hour, yesterday around 12.30, waiting to be rescued by a 118 service vehicle. The misadventure happened to a 61-year-old cyclist from Fano, involved in a road accident in Fano in via Rome, and is reported by the local police, who intervened to carry out legal investigations.

The first assistance

The officers provided initial assistance to the injured man, before he was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of the Santa Croce hospital. It appears that the conditions of the cyclist, still conscious, did not cause particular concerns. According to the first reconstruction of the episode, provided by the local police, the 61-year-old from Fano was cycling on the cycle path in via Roma, heading towards Rosciano, when he collided with the Fiat 500 driven by a twenty-year-old: the collision occurred fall on the ground.

Delay

It cannot be ruled out that the cyclist moved towards his left at the height of a petrol station, perhaps to overtake another bicycle. The local police explains that about half an hour after the collision the 118 ambulance arrived, coming from Pesaro because the other vehicles in service in Fano were busy.

The officers managed the traffic, guaranteeing the safety of both the injured person on the ground and the road investigations, whilst maintaining two-way traffic. At that time the traffic was in fact very intense.
