The cat on the train traveling to La Spezia: the conductor finds her and entrusts her to volunteers

A lively little face and a penetrating gaze, a black, shiny coat and is in excellent health but without a microchip. These are the characteristics of the splendid black kitten found on a regional train by the train conductor at the end of the race, right in La Spezia. The episode dates back to yesterday when the railway employee checked every single carriage and had the curious encounter: the cat was comfortable, on a seat, not at all scared. The animal was recovered and entrusted to the Agap cattery, visited by the vet and if it is not recognized by any owners it will go up for adoption.

These are only the details of the story but the Pisa provincial section of the auxiliary rural guard operational unit tells the whole story in detail on its social page: “Thanks to the immediate reporting by the train conductor to the Pisa Railway Police, for a cat wandering inside a passenger carriage of train 19340 which left Pisa at 11.06 and arrived in La Spezia at 12.20, the Polfer agents alerted the procedure for the safe recovery of the cat, activating the Animal Rescue Unit”.

“The conductor – they explain -, at La Spezia (end of the train), before closing all the carriages, carefully checked all the carriages, and with amazement she noticed the presence of the little cat who was calmly sitting on a seat. The beautiful hairy girl was immediately taken by the train conductor, proving to be docile and very good. The train conductor decided to bring the cat back from La Spezia to Pisa with the train that arrived at 1.52pm on the second track, where the two agents and the Nucleo manager Michele Mennucci were present, who proceeded to collect the cat that had apotreno had kept in his service compartment”.

The choice to bring the cat back to Pisa is motivated by several aspects, starting from trust in those who intervene in these situations and by the fact that the kitten: “It may have boarded from one of the Pisa stations San Rossore, Viareggio, Camaiore, Pietrasanta , Forte Dei Marmi, Massa, Carrara, Sarzana, Vezzano, La Spezia Migliarina”.
Great gratitude towards the train conductor and the police on the part of the association: “They immediately took action to secure the cat and to recover it. Once again, the big heart in uniform, in addition to protecting the safety of citizens, as always, has also shown particular attention to animals in difficulty.”
