Checks of parked cars with 35 violations of the Highway Code and a dog unit in the center of Terni which stopped two people found with hashish and found drugs in a vase in via Lanzi. This is the outcome of the joint checks of the police forces last Saturday in the historic center of the city.
Safe movement The checks by men in uniform were concentrated above all in places where young people gathered and were aimed at enjoying a ‘safe nightlife’. The police checked the parked cars, ascertaining 35 violations of the Highway Code, for prohibition of stopping, prohibition of circulation and parking in the restricted traffic zone and parking on the pavement, while the blood alcohol level check of 8 drivers gave negative results. . The dog unit, the German shepherd Isco, was employed in the areas of the ‘Buskers Street Food’ event, where he approached two people who were found in possession of hashish; the substance was seized and the two were reported to the Prefecture as drug users.
Drugs in a jar But it was outside a place in via Lanzi that the dog Isco’s attention was focused, in particular on a vase, where they found: 4 black cellophane wrappers, containing 2 grams of crack – a derivative of cocaine – 24 wrappers, also in black cellophane, containing 39.50 grams of hashish. The drugs were seized, but it was not possible to attribute their possession to any of the patrons, nor to the managers of the place, for this reason the criminal complaint was filed against unknown persons. The customers of the bar were however identified and, among them, a foreign citizen was found who was taken to the police station as he was wanted by the Terni Flying Squad. In total, at the end of the night, 8 vehicles were checked, 53 individuals identified, of which 7 with criminal records.
