VARESE, 26 May 2024– The edition of the North Society and Master Meeting, held this weekend in San Giorgio di Nogaro, saw the participation of the Canottieri Varese with good results.

Below we report the results of the races, together with the statements of Tommaso Mazzonetto, who in the dual role of athlete and coach, wanted to express his thoughts on the progress and performance of the team. Mazzonetto: “Our preparation wasn’t the best but we tried to do our best and we managed to get the better of our opponents. This race was a step towards the final goal, which is the Italian championship. I would also like to say a few words as a coach/companion. I saw that the team has grown and is starting to enter the perspective of competitive rowing. I am satisfied, but there is still a lot of work to do. Let’s move forward and above all GO VARESE!”.

“It was a wonderful trip, well organised,” Emanuele Radice lets us know, corporate advisor with responsibility for the competitive team. “We are satisfied with the results – continues Radice – and it was an important meeting to take stock of the situation of the crews who were not selected for PIEDILUCO. We can still grow and improve, the goal now is to do well in the regional championships and then focus on the Italian championships of all the various specialties. As far as I’m concerned, it’s always a pleasure to participate in these trips both as an athlete, the oldest one and I like to be able to pass on something to the younger ones, and as a manager and I like to be able to lend a hand to the team and the coaches, it’s always stimulating. Applause goes to all the technical staff who came to San Giorgio because they organize themselves perfectly to ensure that all the kids away can enjoy the hours before, during and after the match in the best possible way. Really a nice team and great organization.”

And while 46 yellow and blue men have returned from the trip, another seven are leaving tomorrow for the National Pre-European Under 19 Men’s and Women’s Gathering which will be held in PIEDILUCO.

Among those called up, 4 females: Della Bella, Fanchi M. and the Tosi twins who will then fly to Poland for the highest continental category event together with Cinquantini, Cracco and Doni.

In fact, after the meeting, everyone will leave directly for the U19 European Championship: “It’s an important result, we are truly satisfied with the work done and the growth of these guys who worked very well during the winter and managed to make a notable and important leap in quality”, the words of DG Pierpaolo Frattini.
