The XXXII Marian priestly day organized by the Sicilian Episcopal Conference will be held in the diocese of Acireale on Tuesday 28 May, in the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Valverde, in the municipality of the same name.
All the bishops of Sicily and numerous priests of the island are expected in Valverde, who will respond to the invitation made to them by Monsignor Antonino Raspanti, President of CESi and bishop of the Diocese of Acireale, who thus addressed his brothers when announcing the location of the priestly day: “It will be an opportunity for brotherhood and dialogue on service to the Church, in line with the Synodal Path”.
We will therefore discuss synodality and ongoing cultural changes. In fact, it continues: “Let us not be discouraged by changes but let us learn to discern and become aware”. The prelate concludes with an invitation to take refuge in the hope represented by the icon of the Holy Mary. of Valverde.
The meditation of the day, “Mary, the mother of discernment present in the cenacle in Jerusalem”, will be curated by Msgr. Erio Castellucci, Vice President of the CEI for Northern Italy and Metropolitan Archbishop of Modena-Nonantola and Carpi. Since 2022 he has been president of the National Committee of the Synodal Path.
