Milena Baldassarri shines at the European Championship. The gymnast from Ravenna achieved an excellent sixth place in the All Around, redeeming herself after the first days of the competition in which she did not shine, improving the 2022 Tel Aviv ranking by one position (in 2023 she did not compete in the All Around). A great signal ahead of the Paris Olympics. Baldassarri obtained 134,300 points overall (34,600 in the hoop, 33,300 in the ball, 33,150 in the clubs and 32,800 in the ribbon), playing a growing match. The gold medal went to the Bulgarian Stiliana Nikolova (143.750 points), while the silver went to Sofia Raffaeli (139.750), who had been in first place in the rankings for a long time. Bronze for the German Darja Varfolomeev. “I am very happy with my race and with having performed four exercises without losses – declared Baldassarri –. It was my main objective together with that of improving the scores compared to the qualification. A sixth place which I did not expect and which gives me hope for the Paris Olympics. I am very happy for Sofia’s silver.”

However, the results of the All Around did not help Italy to win a medal in the Ranking Team. The Italian team (which also included Tara Dragas) finished in fourth place with 267,350 points, finishing behind Israel, gold with 302,600 points, Germany, silver with 297,700, and Bulgaria, bronze with 269,150 points. Milena’s European Championship will end this morning with the clubs final, the only one in which she has qualified. The specialty finals will be broadcast live on Rai Sport from 10.10am to 12.45pm.
