PESARO The clamor of the first weeks has passed, as if we had sadly become accustomed to having one war close to home. The conflict in Ukraine has continued since 24 February 2022 and after having mobilized information and consciences it has lost centrality in debates and also in information. But after more than two years, there are those who have never stopped helping the Ukrainian people. And he continues to do so from Pesaro too.
The organization
The voluntary association Reciproca, led by the Pesaro lawyer Michele Mariella, with its precious members, all volunteers, continues to be present and play its part in the solidarity race from Pesaro. In fact, in recent days a truck full of humanitarian aid left for the population affected by the conflict. The “angels of Pesaro” don’t stop. The last shipment saw 26 hospital beds, 10 hospital scale beds, at least seventy parcels and boxes, six pallets of candle wax (collected by our friend Andriy) leave for Ukraine. There were also diapers, baby food, children’s toys and clothing.
It all started on March 4, 2022 when five mothers with their seven young children were torn away from the war in Ukraine and taken to safety in Italy. In a few days the Mariella family had organized a journey of hope: two minibuses loaded with basic necessities left for the Ukrainian border. A journey of over 3 thousand kilometers from Pesaro to Korczowa, on the Polish-Ukrainian border, to save human lives. Everything ended well, but the solidarity still continues.
The Reciproca association is a small organization managed together with some friends and two Ukrainians who in this period managed to bring 70 people to Pesaro, saving them from the war, and brought tons of goods to Ukraine. Many of them today are located throughout the national territory while others have remained in Pesaro.
«It was a surprise for everyone, a wonderful surprise – says Michele – everything came about spontaneously. We want to continue to be there, we have a collaboration with the T41-Protesica association and the San Salvatore hospital in Pesaro. On this last trip we sent hospital beds that were disused but which are very useful in an emergency situation in Ukraine. Let’s try to do our part and not lower attention to the conflict. Ours is a message of peace as well as concrete help for those who suffer.”
The cargo was sent to a charitable foundation in Kiev and one in Lutsk which will have the task of distributing the cargo throughout the territory.
