the program for Spring 2025 confirmed in Ragusa

Aerolinee Siciliane presented the new entrepreneurial operational program in Ragusa, in the Avis room in Ragusa. The joint-stock company with popular shareholders has announced the start of activities for the certification of part 145, which represents the maintenance area. Flight plans are confirmed for next spring.

The President of the Supervisory Board, Leonardo Licitra, past president of Sicindustria Ragusa, underlined that “the program has been made even more convincing thanks to the great pressure of the demand for flights to and from Sicily. It means that we were right before in thinking that it is necessary to bring a Sicilian airline onto the market, because it is profitable and above all necessary for the structural needs of development.”

The very crowded meeting brought together leading entrepreneurs from the Iblea province, professionals, teachers and even very young people.

“This initiative is useful to us young people because we want to stay in Sicily with concrete opportunities, not to beg for a place without prospects. Aerolinee Siciliane is a concrete opportunity, without chatter.” Alice and Giorgia explained.

From the public, many interventions from the shareholders who underlined that the choice to enter into the capital was motivated by the desire to do something useful for Sicily, as Michele Mazzarino explained even if, he added, “I am also an investor and second according to my analyses, this company is among the start-ups that will give me satisfaction.”

Elio Guastella, company manager and entrepreneur, also wanted to reiterate that the need for Ragusa and Sicily is to unite in large business projects that can and will change our entrepreneurial and social future.”

Roberto Sica, entrepreneur and one of the organizers of the event, explained the structural reasons that also led to his decision to be a shareholder: “Comiso has a catchment area of two million inhabitants to serve. With a minimal investment, our Ibleo airport could bring at least one million passengers, an extremely positive balance of Sicilian economic and social movements.”

Also in the audience was Stefania Campo who guaranteed strong institutional support from the Sicilian Regional Assembly to the business initiatives of Sicilians who come together and work from below to make Sicily great.”

The mayor of Ragusa Giuseppe Cassì said he was favorably impressed by the crowd of interested people. “Even today in Pozzallo a great entrepreneur asked me for information about this company. I must say that I know it, but I believe that the time has come to delve deeper into this topic and my commitment will be there on an institutional level.”

Interventions and proposals for collaboration were also made by the principal of the Ragusa Aeronautical Institute Antonella Rosa and by a delegation of teachers: “Many synergies can be created and we intend to build them with a Sicilian company which for us means important employment opportunities for our students.”

Claudio Melchiorre, one of the founders of Aerolinee Siciliane, spoke for the company’s board of directors: “Our company is a coordinated, serious and technical commitment of the best minds and the best aeronautical managers in Italy. We know that the company will be successful, but what matters is that we put an end to the idea that it is a company owned by the few. Anyone who wants can own their own Sicilian airline. In our opinion, in our capacity as shareholders, we believe that it is the company of all those who believe that Sicilians can use the pronoun ‘we’ and not the ‘you’ of those who wait for answers without any commitment. This community and joint venture is however the idea of Sicilians who do not believe in dreams, but in the reality of concrete actions. We leave the dreams to those who think that a Region that produces twenty percent less than Campania and a fifth of what Lombardy produces can grow economically and socially thanks to hope alone.”
