TRENT. Within a couple of years, at most, the football pitches of Piedicastello – Vela and Argentario will also become synthetic.

“This is an obligatory step – explains the municipal sports councilor Salvatore Panetta – given that these are two structures that can currently only be used partially due to the conditions of the turf. Better, therefore, to switch to synthetic to be able to use these two systems at full capacity. The FIGC and the clubs are perfectly aligned and, therefore, the intention is to proceed in the shortest possible time, starting from the Piedicastello Vela field whose works, at most, will start within a year, even if my dream would be that – weather permitting – to carry out the works already during the winter break of the 2024 – 2025 sports season, so as to be able to use the facility already in the return round. We are also evaluating the possibility of completing the project with the installation of a grandstand with seats.”

The expense for the renovation of the pitch is approximately around 600 – 700 thousand euros and it will be inserted into the 2024 investment plan. It will happen by July the passage to the city council and, once approval has been obtained (which seems obvious), we will proceed with the establishment of the tender. The field will be usable starting from the 2025 – 2026 season but, as said by the councilor, the possibility of intervention in the middle of the sporting year should not be ruled out.

However, as regards the Argentario football field, located in via Ponte Alto (in front of Villa Madruzzo) in Cognola, the process will be the same, but “shifted” by a year.

“This second surgery – concludes Panetta – it will instead be included in the 2025 investment plan and then the works will presumably be carried out in summer 2026. From today, within two years, the city and the sports clubs of the capital will be equipped with two perfectly functioning structures that can be used 365 days a day. ‘year. In the meantime, other work is underway to renew the expiring approvals for many other Trentino synthetic pitches.”

“The intervention on the Piedicastello Vela field – comments the president of Asis, Martino Orler – it will allow us to fully exploit a structure with enormous potential, given the position, close to the motorway entrance and the ring road exit, the enormous availability of parking and, certainly not least, the quality of the changing rooms and services” .

After these two interventions only four fields will remain (although it will depend on what happens to the “Briamasco”: ARTICLE HERE), or the Trentinello (which, however, is located on the territory on which the Not should be built and, therefore, at the moment it would not make sense for it to be the subject of works), one of the two surfaces of the Melta sports center and one of the two of the “Oscar Ceschi” sports center of Gabbiolo. The latter two, however, are used significantly less than synthetic turfs.
