enough controversy, Taranto is strategic for the government (VIDEO)

“I don’t want to start a controversy but asking the Meloni government to quickly remedy what hasn’t been done in the past for Taranto seems a bit much to me. We are working on the large crisis areas and we are convinced that the tools of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and also, and above all, the coordination with the resources of the Cohesion Plan can constitute an opportunity. We consider the Taranto area strategic”.

The Minister for European Affairs-Southern-Cohesion Policies-Pnnr, Raffaele Fitto, has no doubts about this. The government representative chose the hall of the Hotel Salina, reached today evening, Saturday 25 May, for the official presentation of the candidate for the European elections in the Southern constituency, Francesco Ventola. With him also the undersecretary of Health and regional coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia, the Hon. Marcello Gemmato, and the provincial president of the party, the Hon. Dario Iaia.
In front of a crowded audience of supporters, local administrators and municipal coordinators of FdI, Minister Fitto dampened all the controversies relating to the fact that the Pnnr’s plans are going slowly. On the contrary, the minister said, “we have refinanced measures for businesses, such as the 5.0 transition, and we have moved a series of projects out of the plan that could not be included in it. In the next few days we will close the verification of the fifth installment and for most of the works we have completed the design and tendering phase. Now we will begin to spend the resources with a precise timing.” And, shortly, Fitto underlined, the CIS table will restart “subject to a technical verification and an update of the investments”.
On the premiership, “a fundamental element for the stability of governments”, the minister underlined that “it is right to support it with conviction and put our face to it because it is the element that can and must guarantee the stability of our country”.
Then it’s time to remove a few pebbles from the shoe and the occasion is the question of the single Zes. “Here too, every now and then we hear controversy from those who have asked for the single SEZ for years and, once obtained, began to criticize it. The single SEZ has a functioning structure, the implementation decree for the tax credit has been published in the Official Journal, we are working on a serious strategic plan within which choices will also be made on strategic sectors. We are perfectly in line with the times. In a few days – concluded Fitto – we will present a report to Parliament on what the work of the previous eight SEZs was in order to have a level of comparison”.
To be represented in the best possible way in Europe, therefore, because this would mean for Italy “to have an authoritative voice capable of advancing the requests of the territories, including the Ionian one”, echoed the provincial president of Fratelli d’Italia, the Hon. Dario Iaia. “In fact, in Brussels,” he added, “most of the investments aimed at the ecological and digital transition but also at the modernization of infrastructure and, in general, at the economic growth of the countries are decided. Let’s think, for example, of the CAP and all the community actions that impact on agriculture, crafts and industry but also on common defence. For all these reasons – Iaia concluded -, it is necessary to underline the importance of going to the polls”.
