The first edition of the Painting Workshop promoted by the Periphery in the Center project, based in via Torchio 51 in Asti, ended in recent days.

Two exhibitions are scheduled for the next few weeks in which the works of the artists involved will be displayed. This initiative, free and open to all, saw the
involvement of adults and children, artists, simple enthusiasts and complete neophytes. The workshop, which began in October 2023, was organized with the aim of providing a creative and sharing space.

The participants explored different painting techniques, from drawing to watercolour, from charcoal to acrylic. The laboratory and research approach allowed the participants to experience a shared journey, an experience and an approach to art different from the usual.

The project was born from the synergistic union between the Municipality of Asti, ConfCooperative Piemonte Sud, Irecoop, In.coop.Casa and Cooperativa La Strada. However, the idea of this laboratory could not have materialized without the availability and desire of the artist Isabella Boehlen-Distretti, to find a place where to create atmospheres, choose colors and practice together in the simplification of forms,
inspired from time to time by common suggestions and stimulated by sharing with the group. Thanks to Isabella’s guidance, along the way the threads of everyone’s intuition progressively joined together in the genesis of a single creative fabric.

The final exhibition includes two stages: a first on May 31st at 5.30 pm in via Torchio 51, and a second on June 7th in via Ginella 60, again at 5.30 pm. Both events will be accompanied by an aperitif offered. Entrance is free and free. The success of this initiative has already pushed towards the creation of
new creative workshops aimed at all ages, with the aim of continuing to promote art, creativity, closeness, sharing and well-being in our community.
