The new machinery

It was he who opened the speeches by giving an overview of the history of the department and paying homage to his predecessors at the helm of the same. He then went on to explain the importance for patients of the acquisition of new machinery of the latest generation, including the 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the New 640 layer CT, which, due to their ability to provide very high resolution and high detail images, guarantee extraordinary diagnosis accuracy. Not only that, MRI will drastically shorten the time needed for the exam with considerable advantage for the patient and savings for the hospital. Furthermore, all this will lead to a significant shortening of waiting lists.

The new technological equipment of the GOM X-Ray Plate therefore includes the following machines: 2 MRI 3 Tesla, 1 MRI 1.5 T, 2 CT 640 layers, 3 CT 128 layers, 1 CT 64 layers. Furthermore, Neuroradiology has been equipped with artificial intelligence software (Rapid, Quantib, AICE) capable of assisting doctors in offering quick and accurate diagnostic responses to cancer patients or those suffering from demyelinating disease.

The Dr. Armentano he concluded by thanking the various managers who followed one another by supporting the work of the department, and in particular Commissioner Scaffidi, the Company Health Director, Dr. Salvatore Costarella, and the Administrative Director, Dr. Francesco Araniti, the Supervision UOC and the Management UOC Asset Technician, who arranged the acquisition of the machinery and the renovation of the premises in a very short time.

The Dr. Scaffidi he concluded his speeches by also remembering all those who have led the Neuroradiology of Reggio Calabria over the years and defining what has been done “a real undertaking”. “Due to the cumbersomeness of the procedures and the tight deadlines with which the new site was created, what the GOM team has done is unparalleled”.

The Commissioner joined in thanking Dr. Armentano and underlined the closeness of the Calabria Region, in the person of President Roberto Occhiuto, who is supporting the virtuous process that the Reggio Calabria Hospital is implementing: “About twenty days ago we presented the Breast Unit, this morning we went to GITMO-Ail conference, together with the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Center, Dr. Massimo Martino, who is doing an extraordinary job, and now we are here to inaugurate the new Neuroradiology premises. These are clear signs that the GOM knows how to enhance its excellence and invests well the resources that the Region makes available to protect the health of the community”.
