Grosseto: The Grosseto Skating Club has closed the preliminary phase of the national finals of the under 11 category, taking place in Camaiore, with two victories and two defeats and has earned a place in the quarter-finals which will be played on Saturday at 5.30pm. A great feat, in short, for the very young team led by Fabio Bellan, who confirmed the good things they showed in the Tuscany-Liguria zonal phase, in which they placed second behind the undefeated Rotellistica Camaiore.

The adventure to the championship finals began with a 4-2 success against Seregno, defeated with two goals in each half, thanks to braces from Tommaso Spinosa and Diego Croci. The match against Telea Medical Sandrigo was decided in the first fifteen minutes, with the Venetians going to the break at 7-1, after conceding Tommaso Spinosa’s goal with 3’53 left. In the second half it was Tommaso who scored the only goal and set the final score at 7-2.

On Friday morning Bellan’s red and whites surrendered to Correggio. Pietro Spinosa, in the first half, responded to Diego Jara’s initial goal after 45 seconds, the match winner with 9 scores, but then the Emilians took off, also thanks to an injury to Diego Croci, hit on the forehead by a ball, left (and never returned) at the moment in which the CP was making its greatest effort after Giulio Bucciacchio’s 5-2. Tommaso Spinosa then shortened it to 7-3, but Correggio flew away to 10-3.

However, the Skating Club did not fail to reach the quarter-finals, closing the first phase with a nice goal (17-5, first half 11-4) against the Amatori Pesaro. For Grosseto, Croci (3), Marinoni (1), Tommaso Spinosa (8) and Pietro Spinosa (5) scored. It should be noted that coach Bellan gave ample space to two very young mini hockey players, Andrea Mantovani and Pietro Spinosa, born in 2016, who contributed to continuing this splendid weekend.

The squad of the Skating Club: Leonardo Buonriposi; Giulio Bucciacchio, Diego Croci, Andrea Mantovani, Alessandro Marinoni, Pietro Spinosa (the team’s striker with 75 goals in the regular season), Tommaso Spinosa. Coach Fabio Bellan; managers Tommaso Marinoni and Alessandro Spinosa.
