Paganini Day in Parma to celebrate the legendary violinist

On Monday 27 May, the 184th anniversary of the death of Niccolò Paganini, Paganini Day will take place in Parma, in whose cemetery the master is buried, a celebratory day as part of the Paganini Guitar Festival, which is currently taking place.

It will be a real musical marathon with concerts, meetings, guided tours, exhibitions and awards that will highlight the legendary violinist’s love for the guitar.

Paganini Day will start at 11am at the composer’s tomb and, after the greetings of the authorities, at 11.30am in the Artists’ Chapel of the Villetta the in memoriam concert will be held with the romantic guitars of the Ramelli-Savigni Duo and music by Paganini, Brahms , Schumann, and a world premiere by the composer Giacomo Susani.

At 2.30 pm you can visit Villa Paganini; at 3pm the final of the international competition Homage to Paganini, romantic guitar section, will take place at the Casa della Musica; at 3.30 pm there will be a greeting from Niccolò Paganini, musicologist and descendant of the family.
