Planning continues for the redevelopments scheduled for 2024 in the places of worship in the neighborhoods outside the city and in the Monumental Civic Cemetery. A program, partly completed and partly underway, which is progressing through the various construction phases, or the planning and awarding of tenders.

After the approval of the executive project, which took place in recent months, these days have been the documents for the relevant tender were also approved at the Cemetery of San Lorenzo in Correggiano. A important redevelopment work which is part of the maintenance plan for places of worship located in the neighborhoods upstream from state road 16.

The works covered by this contract, estimated for a total amount of over 470 thousand eurosconsist mainly of restoration and consolidation of the cemetery located in Via San Lorenzo in Correggiano, Gaiofana, near the hillside. A necessary redevelopment due to some instability phenomena, the subject of geological studies and monitoring, which probably led to failures in some buildings, resulting in cracks in the perimeter walls. In particular, the artefacts covered by this intervention will be the surrounding wall, the east side columbaria and the cemetery chapel. A project carried out together with the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, as a protected place of worship. However, other types of work have already been completed, also carried out in this cemetery, which were part of another maintenance and restoration operation.

In the Civic Cemetery the renovation is progressing on two fronts. The first is the one referring to the tender in the final stretch for the interventions aimed at functional improvement and regulatory compliance. Works planned for a total investment of 200 thousand euros, which include the arrangement of the parapets of the buildings. Another front of works planned in the Monumental Civic Cemetery concerns the restoration of the chapel Of Ponentewhich will be entrusted to Anthea for a cost of approx 100 thousands EUR.

But there are other cemeteries in the area that will undergo a makeover. In fact, interventions relating to the Corpolò Cemetery, a project entrusted to Anthea for a total cost of 55 thousand euros, which concerns the consolidation of the surrounding walls and the waterproofing of the roofs, the replacement of deteriorated tiles. A redevelopment that also includes replastering and painting the facades of the columbariums, as well as the electrical systems and internal paths.

The same goes for the San Vito Cemetery (total cost of 45 thousand euros entrusted to Anthea), where the roofing is being renovated, the uneven floors are restored and the façades of the columbaria are being restored, in addition to the arrangement of the pavements with the elimination of architectural barriers.

To the Cemetery of San Martino Montelabbate, per an estimated cost of around 175 thousand euros, Anthea is committed to restoring the deteriorated architectural elements of the historic part of the cemetery. In addition to eliminating architectural barriers with the creation of an access ramp to a burial niche. The works also concern the renovation of the facades of the columbariums, the restoration of the cornices, the reconstruction of the central driveway and other widespread and necessary maintenance works.

However, work on the Santa Aquilina Cemetery has been completed Where Anthea carried out some structural adaptation works to the columbaria and the arrangement of the surrounding walls. The operation had a total cost of 140 thousand euros.

Other works and redevelopments are also scheduled for 2025which will see an intense succession of construction sites in the city’s places of worship. Various extraordinary maintenance interventions, with a total value of 100 thousand euros, are planned in the cemeteries of San Lorenzo in Monte and Santa Maria in Cerreto. The same investment will also be made for the Civic Cemetery, where we will continue with the redevelopment of the reinforced concrete buildings in the north and west sectors. The planning will continue the following year (2026), when they are scheduled extraordinary maintenance works in the cemeteries of Casalecchio, San Martino in Venti and Santa Giustina and for the Civic Cemeterywhere we want to continue with the safety of the “comb-shaped” reinforced concrete buildings and the reconstruction of further parapets.
