man seriously injured and airlifted to hospital

Civitavecchia: in the night just gone by, a man behind the wheel of a Lancia Ypsilon hit a 50-year-old pedestrian which was crossing the southern Via Aurelia at Porto Riva di Traiano.

A car hits a pedestrian who was crossing the road and he is seriously injured: immediate transfer to hospital by air ambulance

The man on board the vehicle, respecting the law, stopped to provide assistance, but unfortunately the pedestrian’s condition immediately appeared very serious following the impact with the vehicle.

Therefore the Ares 118 medical staff intervened and hospitalized the injured man, under code red, at the Agostino Gemelli polyclinic in Rome.

Currently, from what emerges from the latest investigative findings, the 50-year-old pedestrian is in a reserved prognosis and we will have to see how he will react to medical treatment and, more generally, his course in the next 72 hours, the generally most critical ones.

The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit are investigating the case and will have further evidence from viewing the videos of the cameras present on that stretch of road, from the assessment of the vehicle and from the alcohol and drug tests to which the motorist will undergo.

To find out the exact dynamics of what happened, we will also try to find out whether the accident was the result of distraction, excessive speed or an improvident crossing by the pedestrian who was seriously injured.
