The function of agricultural institutes

It will be held on Wednesday 5 June in World Environment Day (1973), at theGreat Hall of the IISS “Volta – De Gemmis” of Bitonto, the conference on the 2024 theme “World Environment Day: Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”, to underline the importance of protecting and safeguarding the environment and the impact that the latter has on the well-being of peoples and on economic development. The conference concludes the technical-scientific program THE FUNCTION OF AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTES, organized by IISS “Volta – De Gemmis” of Bitonto – School Head, Dr. Giovanna PALMULLI and by the Club for UNESCO of Bisceglie – President Pina CATINO, which started on February 27th in Terlizzi, at the Cooperativa Agricoltura Progresso, and continued at the CIHEAM in Bari on March 19th, aimed at the AGRO classes of the Terlizzi headquarters. The main objective is to highlight the importance of preserving and enhancing the environment by encouraging a more aware vision and responsible behavior on the part of individuals, businesses and communities. Furthermore, stimulate reflection on the impact of the climate crisis on the health, especially of children, and develop new actions for the protection and revitalization of ecosystems, which is fundamental for achieving the sustainable development goals.

After the opening ceremony with the Salute to the Flags and the Reading of the Preamble of the UNESCO Constitutive Act, THE POETRY OF THE TERRITORIES by Dr. Antonella PAGANO, Sociologist, Poet, International Literary Critic, will precede the greetings of Dr. Giovanna PALMULLI, Headmaster of theIISS .”Volta – De Gemmis” of Bitonto and PH R Pina CATINO, President of the UNESCO Club of Bisceglie.
