The Risk Monitoring Functional Center of the Lombardy region issued today, May 24, 2024a new yellow code weather alert for thunderstorms and hydrogeological risk. For the second part of today 24 May, “Scattered rainfall with possible thunderstorms is expected in all sectors of the Region, both in the afternoon and in the evening. The phenomena will be more likely in the western areas and less frequent in the more internal Alpine areas. Mainly weak winds expected from the South-West, with temporary and local reinforcements in conjunction with convective phenomena and on the Alpine and Apennine ridges“.
Until mid-afternoon tomorrow 25 May, the weather alert for the Lombardy reports that “conditions of instability will persist which will bring scattered rainfall, including thunderstorms, gradually tending to move towards the East. During the night and early morning the phenomena will be more frequent in the central-western sectors, from late morning more frequent in the central-eastern ones. No or residual precipitation in the evening. Predominantly weak winds with variable direction at an area level are expected, but with possible local reinforcements at a local level during thunderstorms. There has been a strengthening of ventilation from the North in Valchiavenna since the afternoon“.
