There Arezzo Antiques Fair turns 56 and celebrates with a special edition. The appointment with is renewed on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June the event that has been taking place continuously every month since 1968 Big Square and in the streets of the historic center it offers enthusiasts and professionals the pleasure of the “trouvaille”, thanks to hundreds of exhibitors committed to offering their art objects, furniture, jewellery, books and all types of collectibles.

Contemporary art and mosaic exhibitions

To celebrate the anniversary the Foundation Arezzo Intour has organized and coordinated some collateral events at the much-loved market exhibition, which will make the visit to the city even more exclusive.

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, the cloister of the City Library Arezzohosts “The refusal of time“, a collective exhibition of contemporary works created by the artists of the cultural association Artefice who, in the year dedicated to Giorgio Vasari, want to pay homage to the genius of the great and multifaceted “Artefice Aretino”. Free admission.

During the two days of the Antiques Fair, the third edition of Mosaicart which features the protagonist the art of mosaic: a group of artists from France, Spain, Germany and Italy will work extemporaneously on the project of the artist Andreina Giorgia Carpenito, creating a collective mosaic. At the same time, an exhibition of their works will be set up and in collaboration with the Ezechiele association, they will be created music, painting, comics and mosaic workshops open to all.

Music and antique pianos regenerated by artists

There will be no shortage of music at the Antiques Fair. In the afternoon of Saturday 1 June starting from 4.30 pm, in the Piazzetta San Michele (and, in case of bad weather at the steps of the Logge Vasari) he will perform the City of Plectrum Orchestra Arezzochaired by Claudio Santori who, directed by Maria Grazia Donati with the participation of the soprano Gaia Matteini, will propose a program of operatic arias and famous songs.

Then the stage will pass to the choral ensemble Angel’s Pop Cor which, again under the direction of Maria Grazia Donati with the lead guitar of Roberto Lalli, will propose a program that will range between Italian popular songs, swing and pop.

Finally, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June will take place in the charming Via Bicchieraia “Of course piano… goes to town”where some of the 50 colorful and shared pianos will be exhibited which are scattered in the most evocative corners of Pratovecchio, in Casentino, during the “Naturally piano” festival. These are disused and forgotten pianos, brought back to life by young artists. In particular, ad Arezzothere will be a piano made by Miles, sculptor, painter, street artist and illustrator, a piano decorated by Baba Scarhead, eclectic artist from Arezzo and a colorful piano painted by the students of the ‘Piero Della Francesca’ art school in Arezzo.
