Monza. The three-time candidate for mayor of Monza Paolo Piffer becomes councilor. It happens not in “his” Monza, but in ad Opera, a municipality with 15 thousand inhabitants in the Milan area administered by a centre-left council. The official news arrived today: Piffer announced it with a post on social media and by calling a short press point to be held in the late afternoon today, before the city council meeting.

“It will be an honor and a pleasure to make my skills available to Opera and its citizens. Mayor Barbieri’s determination and her work program convinced me: the challenge is ambitious and I feel ready to face it,” he commented on her social profile. The Monza native will be councilor for social services with responsibilities also for equal opportunities, youth policies, animal protection and health in the mayor’s council Barbara Barbieri.

Piffer, who will join a board of centre-lefttoday he is a city councilor in opposition with the centre-right in Monza. In the last elections (2022), in the run-off he decided to support the candidacy of Dario Allevi, the outgoing candidate, who was defeated in the double round by PD mayor Paolo Pilotto. It is expected that Piffer will clarify his position on the Monza city council this evening.
