Two stolen vehicles recovered in Potenza: the Carabinieri intervened

The extraordinary territorial control services set up by the Ministry continue without interruption Provincial Carabinieri Command of Potenza in order to put a stop to crimes against property and monitor the main road arteries that connect Basilicata with the neighboring regions.

In the night just gone by, the men of the Venosa Carabinieri Company were engaged in surveillance of the area, focusing on the Lavello area and its delicate borders with neighboring Puglia.

During the service, the Gazzella dell’Aliquota Radiomobile couldn’t help but notice the far too slow pace of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio on the SS 93 on the immediate outskirts of Lavello.

A pace which, at the sight of the Carabinieri’s vehicle, suddenly changed and transformed in an obvious attempt to escape.

The Carabinieri then engaged in a chase along the state road which lasted for several kilometres.

Distance traveled by the car fleeing with the headlights off and in total disregard for the safety of other road users; motorists that the military did not feel like putting them in further danger.

Which is why the car managed to get out of the field of vision of the men of the force just enough to escape their control.

The search, which lasted throughout the night, immediately spread to neighboring territories.

Research which, unfortunately, did not return positive results for the Stelvio on the run but allowed the discovery and recovery of two vans that had been stolen a few weeks earlier in the Lucanian capital.

Specialists from the Operational Unit of the Venosa Company intervened on site to carry out the necessary investigations, at the end of which the vehicles were returned to their legitimate owners and investigations are still underway to trace the perpetrators of the crime.
