Atalanta-Turin will also be Djidji’s last: the last farewell where he started

The defender will not renew his contract with Torino and the match against Atalanta will be his last match in the Granata

Koffi Djidji greetings. The match against Atalanta will be the defender’s last match with the Torino shirt. After a succession of rumors regarding the renewal of the contract, in fact, the player has not reached an agreement with the club and will not continue his adventure in the shadow of the Mole. Juric will take him to the bench, as he did with Milan, but this time the Frenchman hopes to be able to take the field at least for a few minutes to properly conclude his experience in Toro. An experience that saw him make his debut against Atalanta: it was 26 September 2018 when the defender played his first match as a starter in Serie A, in a match that ended 0-0. Now Djidji hopes to close the circle in the best possible way.

A season conditioned by injuries

Djidji’s last years in Taurus have been anything but easy. After the end of last season the Frenchman underwent surgery to remove an inguinal hernia. An intervention that did not solve the problems, on the contrary, it gave the player even more problems. So Djidji had to go back under the knife for a second operation, which put him out of action for most of the season. Then in December he returned to the field, again against Atalanta, with high hopes of finding his best form again as soon as possible. And just when the latter seemed to be approaching, the problems returned. The defender was stopped by muscle problems that tormented him for more than two months and was forced to miss 8 matches. Now the problems seem to have been put aside and the defender had already gone to the bench against Milan, but without taking to the pitch. Against Atalanta he hopes to be able to get a few minutes, to better honor the years spent in Toro.
