Udine. “Diversimili”, the biodiversity festival, arrives

“Diversimili”, the Biodiversity Festival organized by the Udine-based association Kaleidoscienza, is ready to kick off its fourth edition with a rich program of over 16 free events dedicated to the whole family, from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May. The location, again this year, is the headquarters of the association, in via Brigata Re 29 in Udine.
As per tradition, the “three days” aims to promote environmental awareness through a unique combination of insights, training and entertainment designed for a heterogeneous audience: from children to adults. The objective is to dialogue on fundamental issues for the future of the planet through creativity and art, with a program capable of encouraging meetings with experts through unusual methods, sometimes playful, other times artistic.

Examples of this include the “Dinomostra”, a scientifically accurate exhibition of dinosaurs and their living environments, created by a group of children under the guidance of teacher Carlo Rigon, or the theatrical performance scheduled for Saturday 25th, entitled “Letters from the Sea of Teatro della Sete”, where two sister waters, Atlantic and Mediterranean, tell the story of the climate changes taking place on earth.

There will be many workshops offered to children

On Sunday 26th, among the proposals there will be the guided exploration “Electric Forests” by the musical research duo “Impero della luce” which will allow small groups of people to listen to the electromagnetic soundscape of the city.

«For us – says Giada Rossi, president of Kaleidoscienza – it is important to work to raise awareness of the environment, nature and biodiversity, through an informal approach that involves people by stimulating interaction, play and curiosity. For this reason – he continues – we have thought of a varied program that can involve adults and children, with particular attention to current issues and the paths undertaken to bring young generations closer to science”.

During the Festival two significant anniversaries will also be remembered: “World Biodiversity Day” is celebrated on May 22nd, while “World Play Day” is celebrated on the 25th.
“Diversimili” is promoted with the contribution of the Region, the patronage of the Municipality of Udine and Citizen Science Italia ETS.

The complete program of the event can be consulted on the website www.diversimili.it, from which it will also be possible to make reservations to participate in the various events.
