Salerno, new “murals” in the Pastena district

The story in images of the verses of Alfonso Gatto at Stoves but also along the stairs of the Mutilatedthe small outpost of street art to via Vinciprova and the works that are being carried out in various neighborhoods of the city have made the murals a form of expression now fully present in the city. And, probably also for having earned a place on the national scene, Salerno was chosen as the second stop on the mural tour that the Representation in Italy of the European Commission is being implemented as part of the initiative Eu Street Art aimed at raising awareness of the main current European issues and the results achieved by the European Union in the last five years.

The work

Is titled “Parolana” the work that the painter and urban artist Antonio Cotecchiain art Koteis building in the neighborhood Pastena. In the ancient Campania tradition, ‘o parulan was the one who, shouting from alley to alley, sold fruit and vegetables. But the parulani, in their free and perpetual wanderings through the streets of Naples And Salernothey did much more: they told popular stories and anecdotes which, also thanks to their contribution, have been preserved over time and have come down to us.
