VENICE – Furious brawl between about twenty foreigners at Tre Archi, residents scared: “Heard two shots”. It happened on the night between Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd May around 1am near the Tre Archi bridge in the Cannaregio district. An argument between about twenty North Africans escalated into a brawl, residents said they heard two gunshots and saw some of them with bars in their hands. The carabinieri intervened on the spot, but upon their arrival the group disappeared. Those present also requested the intervention of the Suem but found no one.
THE INVESTIGATIONS
The soldiers found some blank cartridge cases, so the shots would have come from a dog-repellent pistol. No trace of bars instead. Investigations are currently underway, the police are viewing video surveillance images to reconstruct what happened and identify those responsible.
SOCIAL REPORTING
Immediately after the brawl, a tom-tom started on Facebook among the residents of Cannaregio who clearly heard two shots and, worried, asked for explanations on social groups.
