The Absolute Gold National Championships, which took place this weekend at the Aldo De Santis Palatennistavolo in Terni, ended with great success. The third and final day of competitions was dedicated to men’s foil and men’s and women’s saber. These events saw the athletes compete for the access pass to the next Italian Championships in Cagliari, in a climate of intense competition and sporting passion.

A total of 273 athletes participated in the competitions today, but only the top eight for each weapon had the opportunity to compete for access to the final. For the men’s foil, the qualifiers were: Nigosanti Andrea, Pupilli Matteo, Baldasso Alberto, Raffaelli Pietro, Fallica Carmelo, Gai Antonio Roman, Sanfilippo Andrea and Sposato Andrea. In the men’s sabre, the qualifiers were: Pucci Lapo Jacopo, Nardella Emanuele, Bertini Cosimo, Siano Mattia, Scepi Stefano, Zini Roberto, Simionato Filippo and Maestri Riccardo. For the women’s saber, the athletes who earned access to the final were: Schina Camilla, Giovannelli Ameli, Cattaneo Valentina, D’Orazi Francesca, Splendore Maya, Fusetti Diletta, Saracaj Rachele and Simonelli Giulia.

The final stages of the competitions were broadcast live on the Federscherma TV1 YouTube channel and on the Facebook profile of the Italian Fencing Federation, offering fans the opportunity to closely follow the athletes’ exciting performances.

Thanks to their enthusiasm and support, the event was able to reach exceptional organizational and qualitative levels.

During the awards ceremony, the councilor of the municipality of Terni, Claudio Batini, and the councilor of the Italian Fencing Federation, Sebastiano Manzoni, spoke. Their presence underlined the importance of the event for the local community and for the national sporting panorama.

The excellent response from the city of Terni and all fencing enthusiasts was evident during this weekend, with 700 athletes competing to access the final competition. This enthusiasm has once again confirmed the Terni Fencing Club as one of the excellences in the national fencing scene.

These Absolute Gold National Championships not only highlighted the talent of the participating athletes, but also reiterated the importance of high-level sporting events for the promotion of fencing in Italy. With the support of local institutions, sponsors and the Italian Fencing Federation, the future of fencing in Terni appears bright and promising.
