Gulia Urbanathe over ten-year project conceived and developed by the Rublanum collective, which aims to regenerate the living fabric of the Calabrian territory through public art, arrives in the city of Crotone. From Tuesday 28 May – and until Thursday 6 June – kicks off KRIU – KRotone Urban Identitiesa project strongly supported by the municipal administration of the Pythagorean capital, which aims to develop and enhance the urban and social fabric of the city through the most innovative artistic movement of the 21st century: Street Art.

KRIU aims to transform the streets of Crotone into a vibrant open-air museum, promoting urban culture and contemporary art, with a project that will develop over three years. For this first edition the city is preparing to host 4 international artists: Aches (Ireland), Kitsune (Belgium), Kraser (Spain), Piet Rodriguez (Belgium). The artists will demonstrate great talent and sensitivity, creating works that fit perfectly into the urban context and at the same time are consistent with the traditions and history of the city. The areas identified for the construction of the works are Jesus neighborhood and the area of “300 accommodations”between via Giuseppe di Vittorio and via Enrico Mastracchi.

Alongside street art, KRIU also includes other collateral activities: in the evening of Friday 31 Mayat Piazza dell’Immacolata, scheduled a talk introducing the artists involved in the project and, to follow, the performance of the Calabrian artist Daniel Cundari accompanied by the musician Daniele Fabio; the project “Back To The Style” on the days of Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd Junein which numerous local artists will unleash their creativity and style on the wall in Via Miscello Da Ripe.
