“WALK BETWEEN CLOTHES”, WORK BEGINS ON A ROUTE OF 85 KILOMETERS, 11 MUNICIPALITIES AFFECTED | Current news

L’AQUILA – Work dedicated to the Cammino tra i Vestini begins: the intervention, financed by the National Plan complementary to the PNRR for an amount of 400 thousand euros, involves the implementation and consolidation of the route that connects the places linked to the history of Vestino people.

In particular, the identified route connects the places linked to the history of the Vestinus people, who populated the plateau already in pre-Roman times, with particular interest in the fortified centers of the Navelli Plateau.

The Walk passes through some of the most significant historical places including Castel Camponeschi, the Castle of San Pio delle Camere, the Castle of Bominaco, the Archaeological Area of ​​Peltuinum, the Necropolis of Fossa and the ruins of Santa Maria di Forfona.

The project, presented today by the Mayor of Navelli Paolo Federicotogether with the Engineer Giovannino Anastasio coordinator of the Municipalities of the Crater 2009, to the Engineer Raffaello Fico USRC owner, to the Architect Cristina Collettini of the Superintendence of Archaeological Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of L’Aquila and Teramo, Francesco D’Amore President of the Velino Sirente Regional Park, to the lawyer Ugo Marinucci president of CAI L’Aquila, to prof. Alessandro Marucci of the department of civil, construction – architecture and environmental engineering of the University of L’Aquila, is part of the broader framework of interventions implemented by the USRC and USRA for the valorisation of the Paths: a package of actions aimed at increasing the the tourist offer of the Municipalities involved through innovative cultural experiences.

The path crosses 11 municipalities of the Navelli plain and the Subequana valley; the works underway will extend for approximately 85 km and will be completed by the end of 2024.

The mayors of the municipalities involved attended the presentation of the project: Fabrizio Boccabella for Fossa, Debora Visconti for Sant’Eusanio Forconese, Domenico Nardis for Villa Sant’Angelo, Antonio Di Bartolomeo for San Demetrio ne’ Vestini, Antonello Gialloreto for Poggio Picenze, Fabrizio D’Alessandro for Barisciano, Pio Feneziani for San Pio delle Camere, Fabio Camilli for Acciano, Alessandro Pernetta for Caporciano and Paolo Eusani for Prata D’Ansidonia.
