Yesterday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 22-year-old Moldovan, with a police record, without a fixed abode, and a 23-year-old from Togo, with a police record, resident in Rogeno (Lecco), both Italian citizens, held responsible for aggravated theft in competition.
Around 2pm yesterday, a police squad was sent near the Church of the Holy Crocifisso in Viale Varese, where the owner reported a MTB bicycle stolen from him in the morning and secured to a railing with a padlock that did not belong to him. The bike was found via a GPS tracker installed on the two-wheeler.
The police then began to search the commercial activities in the area, tracking down the two subjects in a nearby gym. A few questions and the discovery of the key to the padlock on one of them were enough to make the two admit to the theft of the bicycle in front of a school in the city.
Taken to the police station, they were identified and the various and numerous police precedents emerged (the 22-year-old Moldovan had distinguished himself last month for having damaged a car in the center with an iron bar) in the meantime she arrived from the gym visited shortly before , the report of a customer who complained about the theft of some personal objects from the bag kept in the locker: sunglasses, designer shirt and wallet containing money.
The search carried out by the officers at the police station therefore made it possible to find among the personal effects of the two, all the objects which, after recognition, were returned.
Having notified the prosecutor on duty, he ordered their immediate trial, to be held today.
