The first edition of Prime Minister Brindisi, the politics school for young women, has concluded, which involved around thirty students from the city in a journey of inspiration, political leadership and active citizenship, dedicated to the theme of “Contemporary Peace”.

Closing Press Conference The closing press conference and delivery of attendance certificates is scheduled for Thursday 23 May at 10 am, at the Gino Strada Room (Palazzo Nervegna, Brindisi). The ceremony will be attended by:

  • Giuseppe Marchionna, Mayor of the Municipality of Brindisi
  • Antonio Matarrelli, President of the Province of Brindisi
  • Loredana Capone, President of the Council of the Puglia Region
  • Giovanna Ceglie, Director of the UN Base in Brindisi
  • Prof. Giuseppe Gioffredi, Delegate of the University of Salento for the Right to Education

The work will be led by Emma Taveri, Coordinator of Prime Minister Brindisi together with Maria D’Aprile.

Presentation of ExPa – Contemporary Peace Expo During the conference, “ExPa – Contemporary Peace Expo” will also be presented, an initiative born from the co-planning with the students during the school’s afternoon workshops. This project represents one of the expressions of the path undertaken, accompanying the students in reflections and actions aimed at making young citizens protagonists of a better future, contributing to enhancing Brindisi as a symbolic place of welcome and peace.

Details of the ExPa Event “ExPa” is a cultural and creative event of international scope, scheduled for 2025, which aims to continue the promotion of Brindisi as a city of peace. It will be characterized by a focus on contemporary art with talks, debates, installations, photographic exhibitions, artistic residencies and a series of workshops for the collective construction of new models of cultural welfare in peace operations. The preview of the event will be held at the end of 2024, in conjunction with the thirtieth anniversary of the Logistics Base for United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in Brindisi and in support of the city’s candidacy as Capital of Culture.

Partnership and Support The first edition of Prime Minister Brindisi was created thanks to the collaboration of Prime Minister (national association and local group) with the moral patronage of the Municipality of Brindisi, the Province of Brindisi, the Biblio-Museum Centers of the Puglia Region, the University of Salento, CNA Brindisi, Confindustria Brindisi, Confcommercio Brindisi and Cittadinanza Attiva Brindisi, with the support of the European Pro Women project, 1st Sight srl and Programma Sviluppo.

The meeting is open to all citizens.
