As the new edition of the Sanremo Festival approaches, the list of names for hosting heats up, between already known scenarios and possible surprises. Between rumors and confirmations, the Sanremo panorama appears more uncertain than ever, with Rai at the center of crucial decisions for the future of the most prestigious stage of Italian music. The circle seems to be closing in around a name well known to fans of the Festival: Carlo Conti, a veteran of Sanremo with three editions under his belt, one of which in the company of Maria De Filippi. His experience and professionalism make him the almost natural choice to take up the baton left by Amadeus, but the task is not the simplest. The responsibility of leading the post-Amadeus Festival may require a renewed approach, which is why the idea of co-hosting is circulating.

The rumors, reported by Adnkronos, suggest that Conti may not be alone on stage. Giorgio Panariello and Leonardo Pieraccioni, long-time friends and colleagues, are the names that are being sought as possible co-hosts in an already well-tested trio. However, Rai could still reserve surprises and its eyes are also on younger figures, such as Stefano De Martino and Alessandro Cattelan.

De Martino, in particular, is positioned in an interesting way: the former student of Amici and host of Stasera tutto è possibili closed the last season of the program with a 9.8% share, surpassing the debut of From close up nobody is normal, Cattelan’s new show, stuck at 5.5%. The choice to focus on a young face could mark a generational turning point and an attempt to renew the image of the Festival, attracting a wider and more varied audience.
