Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) won the sixteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia 107, the Lasa/Laas-Santa Cristina Val Gardena/St. Christina in Gröden (Monte Pana) of 118.4 km. Second and third place went to Giulio Pellizzari (VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) and Daniel Felipe Martinez (Bora – Hansgrohe) respectively.
L stage winner and Pink Jersey Tadej Pogacarimmediately after arriving, declared: “We wanted to let the breakaway go away so as not to get cold or take any risks, then Movistar decided to attack and they brought us close to the attackers. I told Novak and Majka to set the pace and in the last 2 km we made the difference. Five victories are a great achievement for me.”
