Perugia’s Under 17 team begins the Peace Tournament with a defeat

The 2nd Women’s Peace Tournament, organized by the National Amateur League in collaboration with the Umbria Regional Committee, kicked off with great enthusiasm. This international women’s football event, reserved for Under 17 teams, sees the participation of high-level Italian teams such as Bologna FC, Parma, Perugia, Ternana, and the Canadian representative St. Catharines Roma Wolves/Niagara, in addition to the National Under 17 representative KJV.

Tournament participation and structure

The competition, which takes place from 21 to 23 May, involves six teams divided into two groups of three. The main novelty this year is the presence of the Under 17 National Representative LND, which fields young promises from the regional, Juniores, Eccellenza and Serie C championships. The tournament will culminate with the final on May 24th, which will be held on the “Don Seri” in Solomeo.

Perugia debut

Perugia, placed in group B together with Bologna and the U17 National Representative LND, is led by Lorenzo Cavadenti. In the opening match, the young red and whites faced Bologna, losing with a heavy 5-1 despite a combative performance. The Perugia girls showed commitment and determination, but were unable to keep up with the Bologna team, which demonstrated its technical superiority.

Upcoming meetings

After the initial defeat, Perugia is preparing to face the U17 National Representative LND in the next match. This challenge represents an important opportunity for young athletes to show their value and try to redeem themselves after a difficult debut.

The tournament as a showcase for young talents

The Women’s Peace Tournament confirms itself as a precious platform for enhancing the talent of young footballers, offering them the opportunity to compete on an international level and grow sportingly. The participation of foreign teams, such as the Canadian St. Catharines Roma Wolves/Niagara, further enriches the event, encouraging cultural and sporting exchange between the athletes.

Impact and expectations

This event not only promotes women’s football, but underlines the importance of sport as a tool for peace and inclusion. With the aim of developing youth and women’s football, the tournament represents a unique opportunity for young athletes to shine and enjoy an unforgettable educational experience.

The start of the Women’s Pace Tournament therefore marks an important moment for Under 17 women’s football, with the hope that the next few days will offer emotions and moments of real sport, capable of inspiring future generations of footballers.
