Last days for the tribute to Giovanni Pini

There are three days left, from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May, to visit the exhibition “In the painter’s studio: a poetic journey through memory” dedicated to Giovanni Pini set up in the exhibition spaces of the church of Santa Maria dell’Angelo in Faenza. There were many people who saw and appreciated the works exhibited in memory of the teaching artist.

The exhibition, organized by association of former students of the Liceo Torricelli Faenzawith the collaboration of Pini family And Diocesan Museumrecalls the figure of the artist, who was a Hellenistic scholar of the language and culture of ancient Greece of international standing, and professor talented teacher of Greek and Latin in the high schools of Fermo, Cesena and for many years at the Evangelista Torricelli Classical High School in Faenza. This was the natural landing place for a teacher like him, with a passion for Greek culture and above all the natural ability to transmit that feeling to the children, who followed his lessons fascinated. And it is significant that the exhibition is set up in the church of Santa Maria dell’Angelo, an iconic place because it is next to the Liceo Ginnasio Evangelista Torricelli “where he taught for many years.

THE paintings displayed in the exhibition are approximately one hundredmade with four different techniques: oil paintings on canvas and board, pastels on cardboard, natural powders and sands on board and collages on board.

The exhibition was created with the patronage of Municipality of Faenza and the support of The BCC Banca di Credito Cooperativo Ravennate Forlivese Imolese And Chemifarma.
