“Art and history” organizes a visit to the exhibition «Precious Alessandria. An international laboratory
at the sunset of the sixteenth century”, which is held at the Palazzo del Monferrato in Alessandria. He will act as a guide Antonella Perin.
From the end of the sixteenth century to the beginning of the seventeenth century, the territory of the current province of Alessandria became a crossroads of different cultures and skills, which compare favorably with other more famous cities in the Po Valley; our territory actually represents a happy exception, in which Nordic influences compete with those coming from Florence and Rome.
On a figurative level, Alessandria and its province became a great laboratory of modernity, in which metal and carving artists proved to be even more proactive than painters and sculptors.
A story told through works of art: precious metal sculptures, goldsmithery and paintings, collected in the province, but also coming from some of the most important Italian museums.
The visit will take place Saturday 25 March: departure by car at 3.15 pm from Casale, Piazza Castello, at the former tourist kiosk.
