Women’s Futsal, the road to Serie A becomes more complicated for Soccer Altamura

The road to life becomes more complicated Soccer Altamura towards the A league women’s five-a-side football. The red and white team, playing at Pero for the first leg of the third round of the Serie play-offs, returns home with a defeat. The final result was 3-0 for the home team, with the Altamura team appearing subdued, however.

The start of the match was quite lively, with Giuliano immediately calling on Russo, on the following counterattack, led by Pedroso, Lorusso missed the appointment with the ball by a whisker. The result, however, stalled in the 4th minute: Julian takes advantage of Russo’s uncertainty and scores the goal for the home advantage. In theory there would be plenty of time to recover, but Soccer was unable to penetrate the attentive Lombard defence, relying on rather unrealistic long-range attempts. The hosts again come close to scoring, again with Giuliano, this time Russo responds like a champion, then, in the 13th minute, a wonderful opportunity for Habib who, excellently served by Castro, from just inside the area, devours the goal tie. In the last part of the half nothing more happens and so we go to half time with the result 1-0.

In the second half, the home team started strong and after having almost doubled the lead with a diagonal shot from Marino, they found it, again in the 4th minute, and again with Julian: Annesse intercepts a bad pass from Lorusso, launches himself on the counterattack and unloads for the number 10 in the yellow jersey who leaves Russo no chance. On the wings of enthusiasm, the home team comes close to scoring a hat trick with a header from Violi, a hat trick that arrives shortly after with the same Violas who, after having recovered the ball on the midfield, flies to the left wing and, diagonally, puts the ball into the net. Soccer Altamura attempts a timid reaction which almost materializes in the middle of the half when Lorusso collects a short rebound from Plevano’s shot but finds the home goalkeeper’s prodigious recovery. On the immediate reversal in front, however, it was De Oliveira who incredibly wasted, with the complicity of Russo, the poker ball. The team led by Vincenzo Tassielli he tries to raise the center of gravity of his maneuver which, however, appears quite cumbersome. Five minutes from time, however, after yet another miracle from Russo, it was Lorusso, following a long throw from Castro, who had the ball at his feet to close the gap, but his shot from an excellent position went wide. In the final minutes of the match, another couple of good opportunities for Pero and a long-range shot by Castro, blocked by Lanza, should be noted, but the result no longer changes.

For Soccer Altamura comes the first defeat in the championship, between regular season and play-off, a defeat which considerably complicates the qualification for the final four which is worth the promotion scheduled for the beginning of June. Now, it will be important for the red and whites to recover their energy and give it their all next Sunday in the return match, being able to count on the support of the friendly public.
