The 2024/2025 academic year is upon us and the Cremona Campus is preparing to welcome new aspiring engineerssupporting merit and encouraging talented young people to take up the challenges of a university path full of opportunities.
Freshmen in Management Engineering and Computer Engineering will be able to submit their application to the competition for the Paths of Excellence from 24 June until 30 September and thus become part of the group of new Excellents of the Cremona Campus.
The objective of the Paths of Excellence is to improve skills and competences in different fields and disciplinesenrich the training curriculum with in-depth courses and introduce you to company dynamics with direct experience.
Assignment and retention are based on meritunderstood not only as academic performance, but as an approach to study and personal growth with a proactive attitude, ready to reap all the advantages.
Companies and institutions identify great value in this initiative, in fact again this year Cremonese Association of University Studies (Acsu) and Next Generation 3C Ets Foundation have chosen to finance some scholarships intended for the first five recipients in the ranking.
And a further confirmation of the effectiveness of this project is the role played in the companies by the young people who have successfully completed the Excellence Paths: all of them have also made their way in the world of work and today hold important positions both in important Italian companies and in significant foreign companies.
The recipients of this award, in addition to receiving a scholarship worth a total of €5,000, will be able to take advantage of important opportunities: first of all there is the possibility of carrying out an internship in the company every summer, experiencing firsthand the company dynamics that come into play in a context other than the university one, where proactiveness, constant commitment and a sense of responsibilities make the difference. Learning in a working context helps to have a multidisciplinary method with respect to the topics addressed and to acquire a meritocratic approach.
In the previous 16 editions, a total of 142 summer internships were activated, a goal achieved thanks to the support of 77 companies, in some cases which became financiers of the courseswho shared the objectives and chose to host the assignees in the summer period to activate a fruitful collaboration which for some of them continued even after graduation.
Just as happened to Emanuele, a brilliant graduate in Computer Engineering, who greatly appreciated the opportunity offered by this initiative, considering the internships carried out to be truly useful and in his video testimony he highlighted “During my journey I have undertaken collaborations with local companies which continued even after my three-year degree and allowed me to enter the world of work, therefore to put into practice what I had learned in class and also to delve deeper into the contents covered”.
The Excellence Paths also offer the opportunity to participate free of charge in advanced training courses on particular topics. An aspect considered particularly stimulating by Filippo who declared in his interview “I chose Cremona because it has the Paths of Excellence, extremely educational paths beyond the economic contribution, and this represents an added value for a student. I had the opportunity to attend extra courses, such as advanced Excel or business planning. And then the structure of the course meant that we students immediately came into contact with the world of entrepreneurship. It was a key step in my education. Cremona was a decisive stage.”
Artificial Intelligence, Business Planning, Smart Working, Big Data Analytics, Python, Digital Payment Systems, Blockchain, Time Management, Advanced English are just some of the courses activated to offer multidisciplinary training to those awarded the Paths of Excellence.
