A delegation made up of the leaders of the recently renewed Board of Directors of the Latin Section of the UCID (Christian Union of Business Managers) met in recent days with the Bishop of the Diocese of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-
The delegation, composed of the President Paolo Grignaschiby the Vice Presidents Avv. Mario Pellegrino and Lawyer Maurizio Tamburini and by the Secretary and President of the section’s youth group Chiara Dimaurospent a long time in a conversation with the Bishop which had as its object the action of the UCID in the territory, aimed at relaunching a social network inspired by the principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church, with a particular look at identity and needs of the city and the diocesan territory.
“We had an important discussion – underlines the President Paolo Grignaschi – which highlighted the total harmony of views between the UCID and the Diocese on social, economic and civil issues which must see the Church as a fundamental actor in local dynamics, despite respecting the distinction of roles, as well as a moral and spiritual point of reference. The task of Christians, especially lay people, is to engage in every area by offering exemplary testimonies and virtuous models in a full spirit of collaboration with all segments of plural civil society.”
“The UCID – continues Grignaschi – has played and can continue to play with greater insistence an important role in the cultural growth of Latina, encouraging the development of a civic sense based on the centrality of the human person, solidarity and subsidiarity while also creating new connections between different actors, essential to seize all the opportunities that the Holy Year 2025 can offer not only to believers but to the entire local community.”
Another point shared during the meeting is the role of stimulus to democratic participation that the UCID can play, also in view of the next European elections threatened by the risk of abstentionism.
The lawyer also spoke during the meeting. Pellegrino, who underlined the importance of the city of Latina developing its own autonomous identity, as did the lawyer. Tamburini, who reiterated the importance of Christian testimony. Also accompanying the delegation present was the National President of UCID Youth Benedetto Delle Sitewho underlined the potential of the new Ucidino management group made up of managers, entrepreneurs and esteemed professionals who will be able to make the UCID even more attractive for the entire Pontine professional community.
